About: My IEA Backpack

   The IEA season is just around the corner and I'm getting my backpack all ready to hit the road! As a coach I want to be prepared for anything that might come our way, so below you will see everything I have in my current ring bag. I feel like I'm pretty set, but there is always that feeling of something is missing. Hope not!

The Backpack

I love this bag! It is perfect for heading to the ring, it has all the essential horsey pockets. When we were heading to Nationals last spring Kerrits sponsored our team and the logo looks great on the helmet pouch!

Rules Binder

I think it's always important to have the rulebook handy when I'm at shows. I would hate to get in to a situation for one of my students and not being able to have the correct answer. Having the rulebook makes it so easy!

Team Binder

Now this binder has all our personal team information in it. Like emergency contact info, rider points, clothing orders, show programs, you name it I have it in this binder.

Show Clipboard

At first I walked around with one giant binder at every show, but as the season progressed that binder got way too big! So now for the day of show information that I need, I keep them in this binder. It works great for rainy PNW horse shows because all of my paperwork stays dry!

First Aid Kit

This is a new addition for the upcoming season and I held my breath every show last year that I wouldn't have needed it. Thankfully I have the best moms and they were always prepared, but now I'm ready to take care of any minor injury!

Feminine Care Pouch

Listen, with a team full of teenage girls this is a need. That's just life. I got you ladies!

Travel Boot Cleaner

Dirty boots are not ok, but sometimes they get a little dirty when we do our course walk. So now if need be I have some sweet smelling cleaner and conditioner from Sterling Essentials.

Hand Warmers

I hate being cold, and unfortunately the IEA season is during the winter, but one of the easiest ways to fight of the crisp air is hand warmers!! Also, it's really hard to hold reins if you are frozen. These are a must!

Crop

Normally if a horse is allowed a crop it is provided with the horse. But, sometimes crops grow legs and run away, so just in case, I have one.

Spurs

Again, same as the crop, sometimes spurs don't easily follow the horse they are supposed to. In this case I have a REALLY tiny set that live on my bag. They also have a small charm on the buckle so I know they are mine, but I have my eye on this adorable pair of spur straps from ManeJane!

Fluff Monkey

Remember how I said dirty boots are unacceptable? Well dull boots aren't either! With my Fluff Monkey in our team's colors that is never an issue!

Golf Towel

This golf towel comes in clutch on rainy, muddy days! And with it's fancy clip it, comes on and off my bag easily and is hard to lose!

Water Bottle

Let's be real, I'm talking (and possibly yelling) a lot on show days and if I didn't carry water with me I don't know if I would make it! And, it's just plain important to stay hydrated!

Hair Nets & Hair Ties

Inevitably a hair net will get a hole in it or someone's hair tie will snap or go missing. What kind of coach would I be if I let one of my riders go in the ring with messy hair?!
